What Trump has done since taking power

· 1 min read

BBC:

Donald Trump will finish the first working week of his second presidency touring flood and fire-ravaged communities in North Carolina and California.

It will be his first tour since taking power after a busy Thursday in which he issued more executive orders and more pardons.

The order making most headlines is one that could see the release of files about the JFK and MLK assassinations.

President John F Kennedy was killed in Dallas in 1963 and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr five years later.

Also on Thursday, Trump pardoned 23 anti-abortion activists, a day before he addresses by video-link the annual March for Life event, and he signed more executive orders including one to support cryptocurrencies.

His use of executive orders – both swift and broad – carry the weight of law but can be more easily overturned. Some face legal challenges.
